Kooky’s Comedic Premiere

Zero Untitled’s 180th production, “Kooky at the Comedy Club” has been released on YouTube! Another attempt at the Brazilian lambe-lambe style of puppetry theatre, this more mature work is targeting adult audiences. The show features the voice talents of Julio Martinez and Katherine Orozco-Verderber! Give it a watch and do check out the rest of the cast info on the show page.

No pausing the puppetry

Fresh off of some slams in Toronto, Denver, and Oklahoma City, there is no rest for the puppet wicked! Pick-ed…? We are preparing our new show “Attempting Bunraku” our brand-new interactive puppetry. “Attempting Bunraku” will allow audience members to join us on stage to learn the fundamentals of bunraku; audience members will be invited up to attempt to learn a bit about the craft of bunraku alongside Zero Untitled puppeteers. They will be given tasks to perform so that they learn a bit about the bunraku experience. Make no mistake: we are not trying to live up to the talents of the Masters, but only trying to share in the puppetry experience.

In addition to prescribed tasks drawn from a hat, we will entertain audience suggestions. This will be an educational and immersive experience. The show is set to premiere at the Texas State Museum of Asian Cultures & Education Center, July 5 from 6-9pm on rotation.

Direction and Puppet Design – Michael Verderber

Puppeteers – Aubrey Gracia, Diego Trevino, Kazi Sola, Katherine Orozco-Verderber

On March 15th at the Texas State Museum of Asian Cultures and Education Center, starting at noon, ZU will have 4 other productions happening starting at noon: the world premiere of the puppet performance “The Prince’s Charming Snake”, two kamishibai (“Ba Pot Bellied Pigs” & “Baby Dormouse Vs Quizzical Crocodile”), and the Brazilian style of adults-only puppetry called “Lambe-Lambe” in a show called “Shower Sharon”. The latter is PG-13 for language and will be performed for adults only.

“Will Seniority Be Enough To Save You?”

A brand new work-in-progress play “Performance Evaluation” by ZU co-founder Gabriel Ruiz will have a performance coming up on March 14, 2023. Free tickets are available for this event (as it is a work-in-progress), so please email us at zero_untitled_films@yahoo.com for ticket information.

Getting Showered On…

In Zero Untitled’s continuing effort to explore new genres (as we did with Japanese kamishibai), we recently mounted our first Lambe-Lambe! This production was a pre-show for the recent Premature Punchline comedy show.

Thus, Michael Verderber created “Shower Sharon”, a rated PG-13 show (for language) about a college girl learning the ropes of life in the dorms. Pre-recorded vocal performances were by Julio Martinez and Katherine Orozco-Verderber.

**NEXT Performance: March 15, 2025 / Texas State Museum of Asian Cultures / noon and ongoing **

Extra Credit Comedy

Here are some pics from the latest Premature Punchline improv comedy show! We put together a college-themed show as part of an extra credit assignment at the university. Performing in the shenanigans were: Diego, Daniel, Cricket, Michael, Ray, Aubrey, Steph, Julio, and of course, the professor herself – Mrs. Katherine Orozco-Verderber.
