The Zero Untitled – NYC team have not made a concrete decision on their selections, but that will be posted VERY soon!

 Zero Untitled will be having a CALL FOR PLAYS for our upcoming Christmas show in December. The event, called TEXTUAL OVERTURE, will feature live music, poems, and YOUR plays with a holiday theme in mind. The event will be staged at a restaurant/bar venue in Texas and possibly New York City.

The show has been officially named “Textual Ho Ho Hoverture” and the performance will occur at Cafe 5 on December 16th, 2017.

Submission Guidelines:

• 5-10 minute plays
• 1-3 characters (monologues are acceptable)
• Simple light and sound demands
• Must have a Christmas or “Holidays” theme (scripts not fitting this category will be considered for future productions)
• 12-point Times New Roman ONLY
• Include short BIO information in your cover letter
• Email headline MUST read “Holiday Submission: __(name of your play)___”
• Deadline: December 3^rd
• Performance: mid-December, venues TBA
• NO Submission fee
• Only reading first 100 plays submitted
• Playwrights may submit no more than 2 plays
• NO musicals (sorry)

 “Three Hour Theatre” is our annual play-writing festival that was staged in Brooklyn, NY this year, in collaboration with our new branch Zero Untitled – NYC and the host venue The Way Station. Production took place on Monday, September 25, 2017.

Program director is Anel Carmona, who previously directed “Unending Repetition” (Manhattan Repertory Theatre and Zero Untitled – NYC).

Like last year’s production, “Three Hour Theatre” will be all about playwrights writing short plays for one hour, then directors rehearse actors for an hour, and then the plays are all performed back-to-back-to-back!

Both new and established ZU-NYC actors were Kate Remelius (formerly of the Texas branch), newcomers Stephen Tan and Jacob Edwards. The director of the two plays was another newcomer Seth Roseman. The third play did not have a director and the allotted time ran out.

In collaboration with the Manhattan Repertory Theatre and Zero Untitled – NYC, here are a pair of pics from their rehearsal of the show!
