Zero Untitled’s 180th production, “Kooky at the Comedy Club” has been released on YouTube! Another attempt at the Brazilian lambe-lambe style of puppetry theatre, this more mature work is targeting adult audiences. The show features the voice talents of Julio Martinez and Katherine Orozco-Verderber! Give it a watch and do check out the rest of the cast info on the show page.
Fresh off of some slams in Toronto, Denver, and Oklahoma City, there is no rest for the puppet wicked! Pick-ed…? We are preparing our new show “Attempting Bunraku” our brand-new interactive puppetry. “Attempting Bunraku” will allow audience members to join us on stage to learn the fundamentals of bunraku; audience members will be invited up to attempt to learn a bit about the craft of bunraku alongside Zero Untitled puppeteers. They will be given tasks to perform so that they learn a bit about the bunraku experience. Make no mistake: we are not trying to live up to the talents of the Masters, but only trying to share in the puppetry experience.
In addition to prescribed tasks drawn from a hat, we will entertain audience suggestions. This will be an educational and immersive experience. The show is set to premiere at the Texas State Museum of Asian Cultures & Education Center, July 5 from 6-9pm on rotation.
Direction and Puppet Design – Michael Verderber
Puppeteers – Aubrey Gracia, Diego Trevino, Kazi Sola, Katherine Orozco-Verderber
JUST ADDED! The track list for the Grey Clay Radio Drone Day Weekend Event has our song listed as number six on their playlist! Check it out for more details on their page: grey clay radio – DRONE DAY 2025
The 2025 edition of our annual collaboration with dungeon synth / experimental / dark classical music project Down Chamber has been filmed and is set for premiere! The video has been uploaded to YouTube but will premiere on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at 12:01 AM in United States, Central time. Drone Day is an international event featuring artists all over the world embracing the drone music genre and its subgenres.
In Zero Untitled’s continuing effort to explore new genres (as we did with Japanese kamishibai), we recently mounted our first Lambe-Lambe! This production was a pre-show for the recent Premature Punchline comedy show.
Thus, Michael Verderber created “Shower Sharon”, a rated PG-13 show (for language) about a college girl learning the ropes of life in the dorms. Pre-recorded vocal performances were by Julio Martinez and Katherine Orozco-Verderber.
**NEXT Performance: March 15, 2025 / Texas State Museum of Asian Cultures / noon and ongoing **
Our puppetry works will be taking a different direction with our new “Ruination Puppetry” series; contrasting the sillier puppet endeavors recently released. Based on the concepts of poetic words and direct storytelling, the Ruination series is about puppets that will be forever destroyed for the sake of profound story conveyance. Two have premiered on Tik Tok so far, with several more planned.
We give you a brief glimpse into our 2025 season! The image outlines an overview of the scheduled shows we have on tap throughout the year. This does not include our sporadic shorts, Tik Toks, memes, another quirky mini-projects that pop up throughout the year. So keep an eye out!
We have entered another puppet film challenge! This time, the fest was put on by Puppet Place and the British Puppet Guild. The theme was the number 25 (in honor of the New Year) and to keep it under 60 seconds for an Instagram release. Therefore, we give you: “The Answer is… 25”, featuring our puppets Mr. Bones, Nosferatu, Thomas, and a bonus stuffed elephant.

Our latest music video for dungeon synth/drone/dark classical music artist Down Chamber has arrived on January 1 to kick off the new year! The video was directed by Daniel Rodriguez, Michael Verderber, and Julio Martinez. Additional concepts and storyboarding by Raymond Martinez and Katherine Orozco-Verderber.
As an extra bit of holiday cheer, ZU member Daniel Rodriguez signed one of Katherine’s songs from her Christmas album! You can watch it on our YouTube or our TikTok! Ironically, the song is forcefully muted on some services.
For this series, we will be creating very short puppet pieces for our Tik Tok. This gives us the opportunity to create puppet projects with quick commitments and opportunity to delve into styles (rod, paper, shadow, etc).
The first of these projects features an OLD character from Zero Untitled’s canon, Baby Dormouse. The character originated from the 2009 children’s show “Safety Critters”. Instead of a live actor, Baby Dormouse is now a paper puppet talking head…literally. The first two ultra shorts were posted on Tik Tok (see links below). Expect to see more Baby Dormouse and other unique experiments in puppetry.
