Last night’s production of Premature Punchline’s “Fish and Giggles” (and our 63rd production) went off without a hitch. Well, maybe a few comic hitches.  New to the cast and crew of PrePunch was Rolando Rios, who previously appeared in “Into Hell”, and Rebekah Ramos, who previously appeared in “Relapse in Wonderland”.  Making his acting debut for PrePunch was writer Julio Martinez who played the role of Professor Caffeine in the skit “True College Learning”.

Next up on the ZU schedule is the editing for the film “Unheard”, which was filmed in the summer in Austin, TX.  And in addition to that, the next mainstage production “Nightmare of Oz”.  Look for those soon.

Our next film, “Unheard”, is still being edited, with a few scenes being filmed here and there.  We anticipate a release in a few months.  However, the next project coming up is “Fish and Giggles” – a Premature Punchline show much like last year’s “Welcome Freshmen”. 

The college-themed show will premiere Friday, September 7th @ 7:00 pm in the Blue Room.  This will be a FREE EVENT; rarely does PrePunch do a free show – so this is NOT to be missed.

Zero Untitled’s collaborative film, “Unheard” is currently in pre-production. The cast/crew were in Austin this weekend for the PrePunch show and to scout for possible locales.  Here is a pic of one of the potential film spots.  More on this project later this month!

The film chronicles the life of two homeless people dealing with the daily trials and tribulations  of their struggle.

Here is a promotional still for tonight’s production of “Wandering Blvd” as part of Textual Overture.  The performance will be on Thursday, July 26th at 8:00 pm at Cafe 5 in Kingsville, TX.  This is a free event.

Our on-going experimental short form and music project, Textual Overture, continues this week with another performance at CAFE 5 in Kingsville, Tx.  The performance will be on Thursday, July 26th at 8:00 pm and feature a slew of new songs, poems, performance pieces, and short plays.  This event will be FREE.

Premature Punchline continues tearing up Texas with a show THIS Saturday at Tango Tea Room.  Check out the flyer! The flyer says FREE, which is true, but we are also asking for a $1 donation. 

Premature Punchine’s summer season has taken off!  Their first performance, at Ruta Maya’s coffee and bar in Austin, TX was performed on Sunday, July 17.

The cast was Luis Zaragosa, Michael Mendez, Danny Cantu, Michael Verderber, and special guests Erik Helsing, and Austin-comedienne Maggie Maye.  Crowd-favorite games, such as Premature Quoteline and Party Quirks, were performed along with the skit “Wasabi Dog Delight”.  Maggie, Luis, and Mendez all did standup.  The performance, lasting from 9 pm until 12 am, was PrePunch’s longest performance yet.

Premature Punchline’s summer season kicks off in the state’s capital at Ruta Maya’s in Austin on Sunday, June 17th.  Show begins at 9:00 pm.  Scheduled to perform for PrePunch are Danny Cantu, Luis Zaragosa, Michael Mendez, Michael Verderber, and Aaron Salinas.  Several opening acts will be performing as well, including our good friend Maggie Maye!  Cover only $5!
